Once we talked about fear of water, which is so common among beginners.
If you get anxious around bodies of water, you may believe that in the water you would sink to the ground like a stone. Maybe we surprise you but water in fact supports the human body very well. It most cases people can float easily without using their limbs as long as their lungs are filled with air.
This is because your body, being made of 60% of water, is slightly less dense than water provided that your lungs are filled with air. Do you remember Archimedes’ Principle from school:
When the person signs up in swimming course, the first step is to buy a swimsuit. When choosing a swimsuit for swimming lessons the material of the suit is the most important factor for finding a swimsuit that will hold it’s shape, remain comfortable, and last as long as possible.

Every swimmer knows that it takes years to find the perfect pair of goggles. When you do find them, you need to buy out the store (either physically or online) where you found them; at least ten pairs! That way, you know you are safe in case they stop manufacturing that model. Sounds a little crazy, doesn’t it?

How long does it actually take: learning to swim as an adult?
Many students ask us if they will swim well after our course, or in how many lessons they will be able to swim if we talk about individual lessons. And our unsatisfying answer is always the same. “That depends.” It’s not an answer anyone wants.
But the only honest answer is this: It really depends on you.
We truly believe swimmers are not born, but are made. So obviously the answer is that is never too late to learn to swim!
If you got past childhood without learning how to swim, it’s very possible that you’re now stricken with fear/embarrassment at the prospect. Yes, it’s really hard to learn things as adults that for children require basically no work (like learning new languages , cycling, etc). But don’t let either of those emotions keep you from being your best self! Anyone can learn to swim, even past the age where it would have been an easily acquired skill.
The Water Safety Code consists of four simple rules to remember each time you venture near the water.
That’s what swimming instructors say. Always swim with a partner, every time — whether you’re swimming in a backyard pool or in a lake. Even experienced swimmers can become tired or get muscle cramps, which might make it difficult to get out of the water. When people swim together, they can help each other or go for help in case of an emergency. Read more
